The Summer Holidays can be difficult for those families who rely on free school meals, as they do not have this support when their children are not at school.
To help these families, we run a Summer Holiday Food Project to provide food to help them through the summer.
We distributed nearly a tonne of food at the end of July and one comment we received was: “Just wanted to say many, many thanks for the two boxes delivered today. It’s greatly appreciated and couldn’t have come at a better time.”
We were supported in this project by the very generous people of Malmesbury – we held a manned collection at the Gloucester Road Co-op in June and one at Waitrose in early July. The response of shoppers at both locations was tremendous – without this support we would not be able to provide food to those in need. Thank you very much to all those who contributed.
